I'm interested in feedback on the conflict of 0-24 hour web/client server recovery when mainframe recovery remains at 72 hour. However, business process can't continue without web/client server + mainframe.

I am also interested in this. At a recent BCP related event, I spoke with a company who was spending thousands on consultants researching that very issue. We have considered it in house. In our case we have mainframe, HPUX and CS(wintel) systems with data strewn across all of them. In considering different RTO possibilities, because of this single fact, we found a hot solution to be more cost effective.

WANSyncHA or WANSync works for Windows and Unix but not mainframe
Why do a restore when you can just failover? I really think that the market demand for continuous backups, redundancy, and high availability will grow in importance 10 fold in the near future just like disaster recovery readiness and planning has.
